THE GENESIS OF LUSAT
Born from the need for climate-resilient farming
LUSAT began as a response to a pressing challenge: Zambian farmers facing shifting rainfall, rising heat and spreading desertification. By bringing together reliable renewable power, field sensing, actuators and local intelligence, LUSAT set out to give farmers practical tools to protect their harvests and livelihoods in a changing climate.

FARMER BENEFITS
What LUSAT means for Zambian farmers
Reliable power in the field
Renewable energy keeps sensing and irrigation equipment running where grid power is limited or unreliable.
Better decisions from field data
Sensors and local intelligence turn soil and weather conditions into timely guidance farmers can act on.
Resilience against climate stress
Automated actuators help conserve water and protect yields as drought and desertification pressures grow.
SMART FARMING TECHNOLOGY
Power, sensing, actuators and local intelligence
Reliable renewable power keeps every field system running. Sensors read soil and climate conditions, actuators respond in the field, and on-site AI turns data into timely decisions for Zambian farmers facing climate-driven desertification.

AI & ENVIRONMENT
Combatting Desertification
Climate change is pushing rainfall patterns, heat and soil moisture beyond what farmers can manage by experience alone. LUSAT combines field sensing, renewable power and local intelligence so that AI can read early signs of land degradation and respond before soil and harvests are lost.
Sensor data on soil moisture, temperature and weather is analysed on-site to guide actuators such as irrigation valves and pumps, applying water only where and when it is needed. Running locally on solar power, the system keeps working without grid or constant connectivity, helping protect soil cover and sustain productive land through dry seasons.
